 Tumbling Beakers, 2019

mouthblown glass, cut and grinded, reassembled

As in the jewellery works of the Falter not Fall series, Hackenberg uses movement, especially rotation, as a visual element. She creates dynamic compositions that appear to be producing kinetic energy, although each structural element is static. Within the Tumbling Beakers, Hackenberg abandons the jewellery scale. Instead she explores the perception of spinning and faltering objects in space.
